West Hill Elementary School had a newsletter called the Boiling Pot which is a translation of a sacred Indian place. All the years I went to Wintergreen Park, I never hiked down this far to the green, deceptively placid pool of swirling waters.

I've always hoped an abstract painting can look good any direction and turned this one a lot as I worked. I played with the idea of signing it on all four sides so that the collector could choose...or rotate it.

Canajoharie's Wintergreen Falls is at once a natural wonder and joy but also a potential death maker. I've chosen to interpret the dual nature and history of the falls by painting a monument to the people who sought thrills and found death instead....

This is part of a series inspired by looking at my photo album and of Wintergreen Flats (Wintergreen Park) outside of Canajoharie. It is from imagination and spans my internal visual memories of many similar places.

This was one of the spontaneous paintings that I did in an hour....just remembering the old and carefree days at Wintergreen Park outside of Canajoharie, NY.
